Are you a teacher or educator who knows how to foster an anti-racist culture? Or are you a parent or carer whose child’s school promotes and values anti-racist education, culture and behaviours?
‘A Better Community’ (ABC) are hosting a meeting for those of you who’d like to tell us how anti-racism practices and culture can be promoted in schools, especially since George Floyd’s killing.
We'd love to bring together your insight and ideas in a meeting (date to be confirmed but probably in the Easter holidays) to shape an information pack to share with parents in a workshop at a later date in the spring.
Our aim is to encourage and equip parents and carers to challenge racism to make lasting change within their schools and communities.
If you are willing to share your thoughts, experiences, ideas and insights, please complete the following form.
At A Better Community, our main initiative is to educated in order to create change, to make our society "one" and to promote anti-racism.
With this in mind we thought when is a better time than Christmas to spread a little cheer and education?
Please donate as little or as much as you like
We are working with parents and teachers to encourage schools to be more actively anti-racist. This includes:
A letter writing campaign
A curriculum pack on Windrush
A loanable exhibition on Windrush
We have met with Bromley councillors to raise concerns about racism in the area, and the denial of some council-members.
We are running a collection of events for Black History Month, as well as a "Black History Month Diary" awareness campaign on Facebook. We are also running a young poets competition. See our events page for more information.
We attend local community events to invite participation in the group and give out leaflets.
