Are you a young person who writes poetry or spoken word?
Submit your poem, inspired by Black History, to our Young Poets Competition.
Win your school a workshop with writer and actor, Sherise Blackman.
Age categories: 7-11 and 11-16
Deadline for submissions: 30 October 2020, 1pm.
Rules
Only one entry per person
The theme of the poem must be inspired by Black History and culture
Up to a maximum 500 words per poem or 90 seconds for Spoken word video
Send your poem as a .doc or .png format
Files must be less than 50mb
Deadline 30th October 2020 by 1pm
Terms and Conditions
By submitting the poem you have consent from your parents/guardians to take part in the competition.
You allow A Better Community to publish your poem through social media, your name and details of your identity can be hidden at this stage if requested.
The winning authors can be mentioned by name, subject to parental/guardian consent.
If you are a submitting teacher, you may request that your school's name is not displayed.
